Iranian ‘Lotus’ to go on screen in UK

Iranian doc ‘Lotus’ is to go on screen at the London Eco filmfest in the UK.

Iranian documentary ‘Lotus’ has been selected to go on screen at the 2019 London Eco Film Festival in the UK.

Directed by Mohammad-Reza Vatandoust, the documentary depicts the life of an old woman who has been waiting for 12 years to get permission to enter an island and meet its only resident.

‘Lotus’ has so far attended several global events, including the National competition section and the Shahid Avini Award Competition section at the 11th Iran International Documentary Film Festival of Cinema Verite, the 24th LA Film Festival in the US, the 21st Cervino Cinemountain International Film Festival in Italy, as well as the 25th Sheffield International Documentary Festival and the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society (Poly) in the UK.

The Iranian doc has bagged many awards at different film events such as the 16th Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in the US and the 18th Beirut International Film Festival in Lebanon.

The London Eco fest provides an opportunity for attendees to watch incredible films about nature. Also, it inspires them to make a different world.

The 8th edition of the festival has been slated for November 2-3, 2019.
